Georgia Hiking Trails

Georgia hiking trails can be some of the most beautiful in the country as well as picturesque as you can explore lakes, waterfalls and even mountains when you are trekking along on Georgia hiking trails.

Waterfalls are definitely worth seeing when you are exploring the many Georgia hiking trails. They are concentrated along the Blue Ridge Mountains and you can also see some waterfalls if you hike further south. There are over 60 hiking trails that are close to the city of Atlanta, so if you are staying in this city and want to spend a day or two hiking, you have plenty of hiking trails from which to choose.

If you are looking for lakes to explore during your Georgia hiking trails expedition, take a look at Carter's Lake. This is one of the more popular places to hike and is just west of Ellijay, Georgia. There are several trails that you can take around Carter's Lake in Georgia.

Those who enjoy the terrain of mountains and are looking for a more challenging hike may like the Big Rock Nature Trail. The Big Rock Nature Trail hike is located at Fort Mountain National Park. There are dozens of hiking trails in this park and they will take you past more waterfalls of the Gold Mine Creek.

If you enjoy natural beauty, you will enjoy the natural wonders that you can find when you are taking Georgia hiking trails. When you think about Georgia, you may think of Atlanta and the fact that it is a sunny state and tranquil. But Georgia is home to some of the finest hiking trails in the union and is also one of the peaks of the Appalachian Trail that stretches from Georgia to Maine.

When you are hiking in Georgia, make sure that you dress for the weather. It is usually hot in this part of the country so bring plenty of water. Make sure that you go with someone else for safety purposes as well as allow someone to know where you are and when they can expect you, just in case you should get lost, although the Georgia hiking trials are not as remote as those in other parts of the country. You should never go hiking without a first aid kit just in case something happens so have your emergency provisions in your backpack.

Whether you are looking for waterfalls, lakes or mountains, Georgia has it all. You will find some of the most beautiful spots in the country when you are taking one of the Georgia hiking trails. Be sure to check out the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as Carter's Lake when you are seeking Georgia Hiking trails and, if you enjoy hiking in Georgia, you may decide to embark on the adventure of a lifetime, hiking the Appalachian trail.
